Yay for scuba diving!

I haven't seen a lot of Hetalia fanart involving scuba diving so I thought to myself, "why not, I'll give it a shot." I really love the look of coral reefs so I wanted to incorporate that in too! It took a lot of refs though @__@ And it was a pretty big learning experience trying to draw this, because I haven't really been doing a lot of detailed backgrounds, and I'm not used to this method of coloring at all jaslkf

The scuba diving gear is probably inaccurate, oh well. I tried to comprehend all of the gear you need for scuba diving but all of the various equipment just confused me ;w; Although I think drawing the fishes was the hardest part OTL I need to practice drawing more animals...

Programs: Paint Tool SAI, and Photoshop CS5 for color fixes

This is some lovely art, I have to say! Now, you are correct about the inaccuracies of the SCUBA gear, and since I'm a diver myself, I think I shall give you a few tips on what you're missing here.

As for the regulator, America would not just have the single regulator. He would have a backup, known as an "octopus", in case his normal one breaks or his buddy runs out of air. He also needs a dive computer. Without that, you're as good as dead. You need to know what kind of air concentration you're using, the depth you are at, how much air you have left, and the amount of time you have left underwater, so you don't end up getting "The Bends" from getting too much nitrogen in your bloodstream. I have a friend who got it, and it isn't a fun experience.

Also, where are America's dive weights? You can't stay underwater for very long without them. Either they have to be on a belt, or integrated into your Buoyancy Control Device (BCD).

And lastly, he needs an air hose on the BCD, so he can control whether he floats or sinks, or stays neutral, which is ideal.

Ah, sorry if that's too long! I just felt as if you needed to know that. XD

Wow, thank you so much for the feedback! :D I'm glad to have an expert comment on this, aha. /knows almost nothing about how diving works/ ^^; I'll definitely get around to correcting those mistakes when I have the time!

You're welcome! And yeah... I've been diving for almost five years, and I go at least once or twice a week. I live in a place where training and diving itself is cheap to the point of where it's completely ridiculous, and the water is clearer and filled with more life than anywhere else I've dove. Just about. :3

And yes! Correct those mistakes! :33333
